For the Immune Deficiency Foundation’s Patient & Family Handbook, I developed a clean and supportive visual design that reflects the foundation’s commitment to improving the lives of those with primary immunodeficiency diseases. This comprehensive guide provides critical information on diagnosis, treatment, and disease management, so my design approach focused on making the content both accessible and engaging for patients and families.
The color palette was chosen to reflect the themes of health, growth, and stability, with calming greens and blues representing the supportive and hopeful nature of IDF’s work. These colors convey trust and professionalism, ensuring that readers feel comfortable and informed as they navigate the material.
In creating the layout, I selected modern, easy-to-read typefaces to ensure clarity and readability across all sections. The typography, combined with well-organized charts and diagrams, ensures that complex medical information is presented in a way that is both understandable and visually engaging. The combination of bright, vibrant visuals with clear text supports the handbook’s purpose of being an educational resource.
Beyond the handbook, I contributed to maintaining IDF’s visual identity, ensuring consistency in branding across their materials. By collaborating closely with the design and branding teams, I helped carry the same compassionate, informative approach into various print and digital collateral. This included working within the established brand guidelines, while also making sure the content felt personal and accessible to the patients and families who rely on IDF’s resources.
